About Amanda and Her Vision

If you've ever had the chance to visit Malibu, you'll immediately feel its unique energy. As someone born and raised here, it feels like I've come full circle, bringing my dream to life right across the street from where I grew up. Being part of such a close-knit community has taught me the importance of the people around us and how much they can influence our values, perspectives, and personalities. Malibu has always been a haven for those who cherish art, critical thinking, health, connection to nature, and individuality.

At nineteen, I decided to broaden my horizons and moved to London to study Fashion Design and Marketing at an international college. During my four years there, I was immersed in one of the world's most dynamic cities, making friends from all over the world and experiencing different cultures on a regular basis. This multicultural environment highlighted our shared humanity—at our core, we all seek connection. Plus, as I explored the city and traveled around, I was constantly inspired by the creations, lifestyles, and values of the locals, which deepened my appreciation for a global sense of design.

After returning to California, I explored Fashion Styling before diving deeper into my retail career, which I had loved since high school, where I spent summers working at the legendary Malibu shop Planet Blue, as well as Paul & Joe in London. I then transitioned and spent eight years as a Buyer and Creative Director at the iconic LA retail institution, Burro. This role confirmed that I had found my place in the world, where inspiration flowed naturally. When it was time to venture out on my own, I moved to Austin, Texas, in 2019, drawn by the city's retail potential and a desire for a change of pace. However, the pandemic led me to reconsider my priorities, bringing me back to Malibu with a grateful and excited heart.

I’ve always felt comfortable and inspired in the retail environment and have so much fun being a part of it! Retail is where objects come alive, and I find pure joy in the art of discovery, sourcing unique items, and creating a captivating space that tells their stories. Bringing my vision to life in my hometown has been an incredible honor and dream come true.

It is a true joy to expand our retail space to the online world.
